Questions About Supported Living?

Learn how Morning Star Supported Living can help, what support may include, and how to get started.

What are Supported Living Services?
Supported Living Services (SLS) help adults with developmental disabilities live in homes they own or lease. Support is individualized so each person can make their own choices, build everyday skills, and participate in their community.
Who does Morning Star support?
We support adults with developmental disabilities who need assistance to live in a home of their own. Each person’s services are guided by their needs, goals, and Individual Program Plan (IPP).
Will I still make my own choices?
Yes. Your choices guide our support. That includes your daily routines, personal goals, interests, and the activities you want to enjoy. We help you build confidence doing things your way while providing the assistance you need.
Do you provide a place to live?
Our services support you in a home you own or lease. We can help with housing-related needs, communicating with landlords, and building positive relationships with neighbors. Contact us to discuss the housing support you are looking for.
How much support can I receive?
Support may range from occasional check-ins and skill coaching to 24-hour assistance, as authorized by your Individual Program Plan. The amount and type of support depend on your individual needs and approved services.
What is an Individual Program Plan?
An Individual Program Plan, or IPP, outlines your goals and the services and supports intended to help you work toward them. Morning Star provides support based on your IPP, keeping your choices and preferences at the center of everyday assistance.
